Things That Are Happening

Customers expect to see well done videos on web sites so sales people can show off their products with Tablet PC's and the customers can follow up later on the web site . 

The days of enormous four-color promotional materials seem to be over.  Most customers are okay with a short video, a four-color promo piece and a link to PDF or Excel files with all the numbers.

With high quality digital video cameras proliferating, and tons of YouTube videos being watched by the millions, everyone has the "show me" attitude and they expect the sales person to have all the links at their fingertips.

The videos must be well done which usually means shot in a studio with scripts, great lighing, several simultaneous cameras, professional sound and editing to get the right message presented.

Facebook and LinkedIn are helping sales people get insights into their customers and their companies. Socal media is not new but now most sales people are using these applicaitons to find new contacts and trace old contacts.
