Several of our Manufacturers' Rep clients have hired us to develop software to help them run their business.  We have developed Access databases as front ends for a wide variety of data tables including SQL Server, Oracle, AS400, Cobol sequential indexing tables and many more.  These databases can reside on LAN's or WAN's and be accessed by employees that are on-site as well as remotely located.   We have experience setting up remote users through the Internet and using dial-up programs such as pcANYWHERE.

Notice the variety of information provided by the tab choices.  In this example we have Contacts, Actions, Call Reports, Notes, Other Addresses, Discounts, Pricing, Orders, Quotes, Cross Reference, Sales, Re-Orders.  There is virtually no end to the information that can be included.  Please note the auto-dialer icon in the upper right of the screen sample for auto-dialing a phone call.  This database uses many "drop-down" combo-boxes to provide standardized input and minimize typing.


 

Relationships

Microsoft Access is a fully "relational" database.  This means you can "relate" one table to another for anything in those tables that has the same value.  For example, you could relate a "Salesperson" field in the TblCompanies with a "Fullname" field in the TblEmployees.  Once these tables are related you can bring up any information in any or the related tables.

The database can be replicated by sales person for their use on a laptop and then "snyched" with the headquarters master.

Why Choose Microsoft Access

Many companies that have chosen ACT, Goldmine and others tell us that after they get started they want to customize their database and find that it can be difficult and expensive.  Access is the most standard database application with many capable developers available and it is completely compatible with all Microsoft products.   Additionally, it can be upsized easily to Microsoft SQL Server which handles terabytes of data.

Upsizing To SQL Server

This type of database works well with up to 15 simultaneous users.  For up to 5000 users we recommend upsizing the back end Access tables to Microsoft SQL Server.
